Why wouldn't you want to give your tax money to Omaha so to fund the urban schools. The Capitalistnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2126795415753795762.post-12407909608182300962009-09-15T12:31:33.455-05:002009-09-15T12:31:33.455-05:00Wow. Why should all my parents hard work have to pay for someone elses kids. I also disagree with the "diversify" thing. If kids weren't getting along with the other race then moving them to another school isn't going to change that. Like Waffle said this isn't even in the interest of the kids's achievments. Not to mention the interests of the taxpayers in Papillion, Elkorn,etc.Dr. Kenneth Noisewaternoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2126795415753795762.post-90841583557156998102009-09-15T10:34:59.748-05:002009-09-15T10:34:59.748-05:00Wow, another example of how large scale politics a...Wow, another example of how large scale politics are dominating the scene, and how small scale IMPORTANT politics are being ignored.

I completely agree with your analysis socrates, this would basically be an example of not necessarily forcing schools to be individual areas and improve of their own accord. It's more of a communism approach, adding money to failed districts.

DISTRICTS THAT ARE FAILING WILL NEVER IMPROVE!! My friend went to a school in North Carolina that was wildly out of control. From his stories, I've learned that there IS NO way to improve schools that are already failing. Tossing money at the situation doesn't help.

In conclusion: Throwing money at the OPS situation doesn't help.

Minicommunism FTW! I'd heard about the "Learning Community" plan but knew very little about what it actually was and how it affected us.Socratesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2126795415753795762.post-56944614234471157832009-09-13T22:37:04.563-05:002009-09-13T22:37:04.563-05:00I agree with you Socrates, this is kind of ridicul...I agree with you Socrates, this is kind of ridiculous! I don't want to pay taxes that don't even benefit me, by aiding Papillion's schools, but instead go to OPS. The name "Learning Community" doesn't really seem to fit if their main goals don't concern student achievement.waffle crispnoreply@blogger.com
