I really liked the ad, Huckabee will be putting out more serious ads in the future as he told Chris Wallace on FOX News. The thing is that because Huckabee cannot spend a lot of money, the ads have to garner as much attention as possible, he has done a good job realizing that and making a little go a long way.

However, I would have to also side somewhat with the people who don't find this add particularly good. His jokes at the debates were charming at first, but... let's be honest, the guy just doesn't have the gravitas to be commander-in-chief... and this just highlights that. I can picture any of the other top-tier candidates in the oval office, but not Huckabee. I think he'll win in Iowa, and then that will be the end of it for him.

I have split emotions about incorporating celebrities into a political campaign. Sure it's great seeing familiar people, but if a candidate has to use that person as the face of the campaign, then that really isn't someone that is trying to represent themselves.

When one candidate uses a celebrity, the others are probably going to have to too, just to keep up. Hillary Clinton is using her husband who, even with the scandal, has the face recognition that is helpful. Barak Obama has Oprah.. enough said. Anything that woman either touches or talks about turns to gold! And now the Repubicans are coming, starting with Huckabee, and who knows where it will go from here.

So, in the end, it was smart for these politicians to have a celebrity market them. But is that just showing that these candidates feel they need to use these icons and/or don't have enough self confidence to succeed in the race by themselves?

I say if you have someone like Chuck Norris or Oprah supporting your campaign then you should take advantage of it! I know that many students including myself have a hard time being interestd in the presidential campaign. I normally dont pay much attention to the canidate's advirtisements, but anything with Chuck Norris in it i will watch =) It also shows that Huckabee has a sense of humor which i believe is important.

I like Mr. Huckabee a lot, but I don't really like this ad. I am tired of Chuck Norris and all of his lame jokes! I would say, though, that I believe the majority of Americans will like this ad. So, I believe it was a good decision on Huckabee's part. Mr. Huckabee is a smart and down-to-earth man. He knows what is best for our nation. My hope is that the rest of America will see it as well. I am also concerned at the fact that the amount of money determines who gets the publicity. Mr. Huckabee needs more money to win this election. I hope and pray he can recieve enough money to keep his campaign strong.

It was a really clever ad but in the long run what do you actually learn from it? What makes celebrities so authoritarian on who should be president. Does the average citizen decide who should be president because Chuck Norris or Oprah Winfrey endorses a certain cadidate? Think for yourselves America!

I think it is awesome to put something entertaining and informative out there for all to see.

I do not believe that endorsements from random famous people are going to win a presidential election for anyone, but then again why do all the companies pay the big bucks to have their product endorsed?

It's nice to see alternative methods of campaigning being used. Creativity makes the world a bit more colorful.

i lvoe mike huckabees brilliant plan about using a celebrity, especially one like chuck norris. hes using his comical side, which in most cases, you dont see. who cares bout baraq obamas support from oprah winfrey, oprah couldn't slam a revolving door shut, that chuck norris can do...

What a refreshing campaign ad! It really is like a breath of fresh air. I get sick of seeing ads that stoop to the level of digging up dirt on their opponents when they've run out of things to say.

I must say Huckabee has turned out to be more of a strategist then I originally judged him for. Using Chuck Norris was almost gold, especially including the jokes that are vastly popular. I liked the interview, I'm not quite sure I liked the terms he used when talking about Midwestern people, but he seems sincere. Sincerity is a lost cause in politics it seems. But sincerity doesn't rule a country, so we will see...

I liked the video and the campaign ad. Personally, I've never researched Mike Huckabee from the extent of watching Youtube debate videos and I don't think I'd vote for him just on the fact that he's a Republican and I just perfer Democrats. But if I was going to vote for a Republican, it would probably be Huckabee because(i know it sounds dumb, who cares) he's got Chuck Norris!!! But I definitly think that Obama beats him by having Oprah!!!

Smart move on huckabee's part in my opinion. Since Obama had Oprah and Hilary has her husband, Huckabee needed a celebrity as well. Chuck vs Oprah. Should be interesting to watch.

Mike Huckabee is a smart man. Chuck Norris is a really good actor to have with your campaign! One because he's chuck norris, two because no one would ever want to mess with him so they are intimidated into voting for mike huckabee and three because he's chuck norris!

When I fist found out that Chuck Norris was a celebrity endorsement for Mike Huckabee, I was extremely surprised that Huckabee would actually go as far as to make a commercial with Norris in it. I was even more shocked when the commercial did so well, I thought for sure it would make him look less serious about being the next president. But now that I'm seeing all the publicity that goes along with having Chuck Norris as the face of his campaign worked out great for Huckabee, which I never would've guessed.

I liked the ad. It's so much better than all of the ones with people walking through a corn field or shaking hands with some poor immigrant. Humor is definitly on his side.

I thought it was kind of funny that he said that the midwest likes it straight, they just want the facts.
Doesn't everyone want it straight? Does the coast like to be lied to?
hmmm. Nice manure analogy as well.
