The Vp should probably give the same advice to America that he gives his own family, or the same to his family that he gives America. Either way, get your story straight. I think him and Obama should probably discuss this issue together so they are on the same page, and the American people feel secure in the government's control of the issue. But, it is a little difficult to not be in confined areas, such as work, school, transportation, so good luck with that.

Wow... Im glad this man helps make decisions for our country...not.

He should care about his people just as much as he cares about his family... if he does what he thinks is best for his family..shouldnt he do the same for the country?

This is why I love the United States and who we choose to run our country.
We picked a winner this time..

I was kind of shocked when I heard the comments made by VP Biden in this situation. Since he is really high up in making decisions for our country, shouldn't he make the decision that is best for our country, and it's people!? Shouldn't the citizens of the U.S. basically be a second "family" for the VP, since he is in a way our leader? If he doesn't want his family to do it, I don't think he should have the people of the country he is leading do it either. Seems really ironic to me on what he said about the issue.

So first he was like, its perfectly fine! no one has to worry about getting infected, but then turns around and says, but uh.....you should probably stay away from people who might be infected. Agreeing with Goldfish, i'm glad we picked this guy

Wow...I'm almost speechless. But i agree with Yoshi when they say that the pres. and vp need to get together and be on the same page with this issue.

I wonder how long it will be until they get a vaccine? Places where the healthcare system isn't the best, this is a serious issue.

Wow. Too bad Bush isn't still in office. He never said silly things, he always made America's government look good!

You're absolutely right, and this is a horrible, grotesque excuse for leadership. What the Vice President of the United States essentially just said is that, well, his family and friends are important, but the rest of us peasants and serfs can go die a miserable, flu-ridden death as long as we help the economy a little bit in the process by continuing to trade.

This, my friends, this is why we don't elect people whose only experience is being a legislator into an executive office. They're used to riding the fence and dodging the question. Well, when the buck stops with you, you can't make the decision go both ways.

Stick to the note cards as they said in Iron Man it is the best way to eliminate slip ups like this and when cornered by a question like that one should respond politically by not answering the question for example "I have different duties and reponsibilities to my country than I have with my family. Though I do love both, the advice I offer both must adress the scope of the situation and the audience."

I don't think that he should be given as much grief as he's getting. He's not the president and this doesn't mean he doesn't care for his people as much as his family he's just stating that he's not comfortable with it but technically it's probably ok. I think that the swine flu has been given too much hype and is not much worse than when someone gets the flu really bad but when people think of themselves their a little more freaked out when it comes to illness.

I kind of want to just go up to our VP and ask him whether or not its safe to go on an airliner to mexico... Would he say its safe again or would he turn around and say its not again? Hmm... i would hate to be in a confined space with this idiot.. make up your mind and get your facts straight before you start advising people about a health issue...
