I agree with Ann that we can not just leave Iraq immediately. We have an obligation to stay. However, accusing the Democrats who oppose the war of treason is simply wrong. This is the same type of thinking that brought the Sedition Acts of 1798 and 1918 into being and those were blatant violations of civil liberties. It is not a crime nor a bad thing to criticize the government's actions. Rather, it is when we fail to question the government's actions (see the Patriot Act) that we run the risk of getting ourselves into trouble.

Even though I believe Ann Coulter comes off in a more harsh way then I see necessary, I agree with what she is saying. We are an extremely strong country, and pulling out would only show other countries otherwise. I love how she talks about how nobody says how many people in Iraq we have killed, only the number of americans killed. I don't think the media are giving us the full coverage of this war and this is causing people to side more with the democratic view in pulling the troops out. With the interviews I've heard, soldiers who are fighting or have fought in Iraq say how they DO NOT want to leave until they have finished what they came there to do!! You would think that if a soldier said that, you might believe it more. This is simply my opinion. I also strongly agree with the soldier who is interviewed. If we say that we are pulling out in six months, or whatever, does it show we have given up? We should not leave until we have won this war.

Can you say crazy? I didn't know that the dems hate our troops and want us to lose the war. Ann Coulter is a far right wing lunatic! I'm no democrat but she is nuts, and that sgt. that they interviewed isn't the greatest source. No offense him and I respect that he served but honestly he's a sgt who only works in one small part of Iraq and probably doesn't see the whole picture. By the way, Sgt. isn't that high on the military food chain. How he says the army is fine is complete crap. Our army is being crippled by this war. Our equipment is being run into the ground and there isn't an endless supply of equipment. Also good soldiers are leaving because of this war. How would you feel if you were 24, wife and a kid, and your going to Iraq for your second year long tour. We are making no progress, look at the Iraqi gov't. There is in effect no gov't. Also the bashing of Petraeus is pathetic, before he was the only one to listen to about Iraq and now people are bad mouthing him. He is a fine officer and is just getting mixed up in politics. There's a reason the military is supposed to stay out of politics.

I think that the sgt on this clip sounds a lot like the soldiers on the C-130. If they all agree that we need to stay in Iraq and "accomplish the mission" then how do we have any say otherwise? If you want to compare this to government then right now we are the British who aren't listening to what the colonies are saying...And not that the soldiers can do much if we vote to bring them back, but I think it would be a mistake to pull out before we've "won".

I like Ann Coulter. Her job is to get a rise out of people and she does it well. She is like Micheal Savage on his talk show "The Savage Nation." But do I think the Democrats hate America? No, but to say that a highly distinguished man like Gen. Petraeus is a traitor to our country makes me sick. And the Army sgt. who appeared on the clip is absolutely right. We need to be a much more unified posotive front on the war in Iraq. The last thing I want for the troops is to come home without the complete support of the citizens of America.

I totally agree with pepe, the troops don't need to come home to the scores of negative comments about the war they just risked their lives fighting in. The same goes for families of soldiers who have lost their lives. Not supporting this war is sending the message to these people that their service, or their loss is for nothing. What a caring and supportive nation we are...
