Americans Rate the State of the Nation

I feel that there are mainly two reasons that are effecting how people view the state of America: the status of our involvement in the middle east (Iraq mainly), and economy (gas prices mainly).

Many feel that right now these problems are very high. Gas prices have been high for a while, but now the stock market is having troubles and the house market is also in trouble. Many others are tired of the war in Iraq.

To why people think that our country will be better of in five years probably has to do with the upcoming elections. Many think that a new president will be able to cure all of our problems.

More then likely people are "Optimistic" due to the upcoming elections.

As Dorris said. The Economy and the War. Both of which people blame Bush for.

Bush, is quite apparently THAT unpopular. Although this is utterly obvious.

Although, I'd implore all them to riddle me this: Would Gore\Kerry have done a better job?

Typically, they fumble around without giving any real reply. Mumbling something about "Green house effect" and how "Negotiations" could happen.

..

I remain unconvinced.

In Americans eyes the countries future is brighter than its present and past. That’s just the way people of country think. “Optimism” is basically what our country was found on and what it has stood for. Now, like what the last two said, the up coming election does bring on optimism just as any other before. Just as Frank left us with a question I leave you with one. Americans are very optimistic for the future, but is this optimism flawed and how are these candidates any better than Bush…… Remember what he HAD to work with, (9/11,Katrina,etc) and if the surge in Iraq does work and brings democracy to the Middle East he will go down as one of the best presidents

I'm sorry if I'm repeating anyone but the reason why only 50% of Americans would give our country a rating of 6-10 is probably because of the war in Iraq. However people feel more optimistic about the future because we are about to have an election and they probably feel that the next president could change America. However, I think Bush is doing the best that he can and I support him.

I hate to regurgitate information, but that seems to be the only thing to say about this video.

Going a bit off topic, Bush will either go down in history as an amazing president or the worste based almost entirely on the next elected candidate and their actions. I believe he is doing his best and deserves respect for handling everything the way he finds best.
