The One - Road to Denver

The McCain campaign has been trying to make Obama look as if he is a celebrity, see the celeb commercial on this blog) that people are following just because he is eloquent in his speeches. Do you think this is an effective strategy and ad for the McCain camp?

I think this is a good ad versus Obama. It seems like all of the media is pulling for him and no one will admit it. He has been endorsed by Oprah, Will.i.am, and countless others. Personally, I think Obama does have a "celebrity" status and McCain is trying to expose that.

I don't think it matters about whether he is a celebrity or not. I think it's sad that some people will vote for him only because they like his energy or how he gives speeches. They should be focusing were that candidate stand on certain issues. More importantly they should focus on how well they would do at running a country instead of their public speaking skills.

Although Obama is using his celebrity statis to help his campaign, I think this commercial is poorly done. It just seems a little immature of McCain to use his exerpts from "The Ten Commandments," and honestly its a little creepy. In any campaign, name recognition is always a tactic, so the people of American probably already realize what Obama is doing, and they still vote for him. So the celebrity statis has worked. Maybe McCain should try it out.

I honestly think this ad is ridiculous. I mean yes huskermania, he's been endorsed by all sorts of celebrity and has become sort of a celebrity himself. However, I don't believe this ad makes Obama look like a celebrity. I think it looks more like some backwards religious figure. Honestly, I think this ad makes McCain look more shallow than anything else.

This ad was a wonderful concept that was executed TERRIBLY! I can't believe that McCain's campaign would put together a very creative commercial, and then end it the way they did. In fact, it would've been better to end it before the "is he ready to lead, no" and leave the viewer to think about that commercial on their own.
