This comment is going to be a little different just to give a heads up because its going to have nothing to do with my opinion. I just thought that it would be neat if I informed people that I had a teacher that actually required all of us to say the pledge, no ifs ands or buts. She even told us a story that she sent a kid to the principals office for not reciting the pledge. This video made me think about that teacher and I wounder if it was unlawful for her to be forcing her students to say the pledge?
The outcry over this issue would make sense if there was any negative effects to saying the pledge in grade school. I believe they are speech, so the freedom to say them or not is guaranteed by our Constitution. But, there really is no negative effect that I see.
