This speech was very appropriate in the way that of those thousands of people that died that day they deserve respect in dying in those attacks. It maybe sad that President Obama would speak of this but it is very necessary in the way to show respect and honor for the brave souls who perished that fateful day

That presidential speech writer is amazing. Not to take all credit away from president Obama, but I doubt Obama wrote that as almost all presidents don't write their own speeches. A very appropriate speech for a very reverent day that has been engraved in the history books forever, and Obama is probably the the perfect person to give it, and not just because he's the president.

As we have discussed in class there comes a time when the nation "forgets" about a disaster and moves on. I believe it is still too soon to say that the nation shouldn't pay it's respects. In Hawaii on December 7th they still hold ceremonies but nothing that gets national front page headlines. I'll give it 10 more years until only New York really "remembers" 9/11

I think the speech was appropriate for obama to present because many people died that day. It was a tragic loss for our country. It was also important because no matter republican or democrat, obama is respected by the american people for honoring the brave people that died on that terrible day.
