I don't think there's any way at all that Iran is going to respond to any kind of attempt at diplomacy. Either that, or they could do what Japan did in World War 2. Act like they're interested and then go behind our backs.
It really bugs me that Obama can say that the surge in Iraq was successful and still deny that he should have supported it in the beginning. If you really do believe the surge worked, then why won't you say you were wrong to vote against it? There is a certain arrogance present when you are unwilling to admit your mistakes.
This interview was hard for me even listen and focus on because I was too distracted by the both of them arguing like 5 year olds in grown men's bodies. Bill O'Reilly is completely rude for not lettig Obama finish his sentences. But I agree with everything Obama was trying to say. P.S. O'Reilly needs to work on his interviewing skills.
I agree totally with komojo. The two of them were hard to follow in that all they really seemed to be doing was arguing. Everytime Obama tried to explain something, O'Reilly was there interrupting him and trying to find some negative in everything Obama was saying. But I did like how Obama stayed true to his word in every argument that the two had. When O'Reilly would try to contradict Obama, Obama would go back to a speech that he has already given and defend his point. I think that is a good quality in a President, that they won't decide to change their mind on what they believe in just out of the blue. If they say something, that they will complete a certain task and just decide not to finish something they started, in a way that is like lying to the American people, and that gets them more mad than anything else.
Yes, Bill O'Reilly does interrupt while interviewing. I don't think it's because he's a bad interviewer. I actually think he has good interviewing skills because once he gets his answer he immediately wants to move on. Either that or he is not getting a direct answer like he is looking for. I thought their conversation was really interesting to listen to. They agreed on some aspects and didn't in others, which is fine. Overall a good interview. I'm interested to see the rest.
