Wow I haven't done school voting since elementary school, and then I just chose the coolest name. I think it's a good idea though, a sort of practice for the real thing. I'm not sure what Raegan and Kennedy have to do with this election but hey the music was good :)

I wish I were old enough to vote legally. But I will vote. =)

okay, im excited about the voting, but teenagers will probably want to eat lunch or talk to their friends more than they will want to vote for an election that isn't even real....sorry Mr. K

Charlie, Charlie, Charlie...

Thanks for the reminder that students would rather eat than vote in a fake election. I tend to take a more positive view of the mock election. Over 200 students voted on day one of the election. Most thought it was kind of cool and I think many enjoyed the opportunity to voice their opinion, even if it was a mock election. Just because an election is a mock election, doesn't mean it is not important. I think things like this get students interested in politics and will help steer them in the direction of voting in the future. Of course, there will be some that will do nothing unless they get something in return. But for the 200 students who voted today, they got a sticker and a sense of what it is actually like to vote in America. As an educator trying to find ways to garner interest in a topic students tend to dislike, I think the mock election is better than the alternative, that being doing nothing. I encourage Charlie the Unicorn and all the Angels to vote.
Do something or do nothing. The choice is yours.
