Mark Rodriguez, The Compassionate--third hour democrats

Specially Designed and Crafted By: Jessica Lahrs and Michaela Payton

Mark Rodriguez, the Passionate

When I think of Mark Rodriguez, these words come to mind: intelligent, considerate, youthful, and dedicated in helping with the betterment of the United States. Mark Rodriguez is someone who would fulfill his duties as a Congressional Member. He describes himself as “a person who believes that, when ran effectively, government can help solve societal problems. Government is not the enemy.” Rodriguez listens to the people and knows exactly what we not only need but what we deserve. This is the kind of genuine person I want to represent me in Congress.
Mark Rodriguez has held elective office since his graduation from college. After only four years on City Council he ran for State Legislature and was triumphant. His youth has been questioned as whether he is as wise, compared to his older competitor, but his age will give him more opportunity to represent the youth along with the wiser people in society.
Rodriguez believes that the wealthy should have more taxes then those struggling through life, those who are living paycheck to paycheck. Then once the wealthy pay these higher taxes he believes that we should redistribute them along the poorer parts of the country. Rodriguez believes that government is neglecting ten percent of today’s workforce. This ten percent are the people who are working for minimum wage. He believes that these people should be forgotten no more and he is ready to stand up and fight for them.
Mark Rodriguez shows compassion to all forms of societal beliefs. He is able to step back from an issue and see both sides. For example, unions between same sex couples; he believes that people should have the right to choose their own life style. He also understands traditions, such as Catholic tradition and how it is against their religion.
This candidate believes that we should do more to protect the environment and the health care of today’s citizens. Rodriguez is a “Green” candidate; he believes that we need to watch what we are doing today so that tomorrow will come. “National health insurance is the only long term solution and is only a matter of time until people see that.” Just going to the emergency room alone cost an average of $383. A single parent raising a child cannot afford that on top of all their other bills. Mark Rodriguez believes that the prices for health care are too high and that everyone should have health care insurance to help with their medical bills.
When you go to the polls make sure to consider these facts. His competitor, Kurt Bullard, has never run for office, does not appreciate a person’s right to choose their own lifestyle, shows no compassion for the people working for minimum wage, and doesn’t believe that everyone should have health care. I do not want a candidate who doesn’t think of the people to represent me in Congress. I would much rather have someone who all he thinks is what the people need and deserve. A vote for Rodriguez is a vote for the people.

taking awaymoney from the rich and giving it to the poor to even out the wealth of people is a genius thing to do....

if ur a socialist like Stalin.

When you say allowing people to choose their own lifestyles; I am assuming you are talking about homosexuals. If you are then you must know that Rodriguez is Catholic. Homoseuality goes against his Catholic beliefs.

i agree with poncho villa. also, yes Bullard hasn't had any experience in politics before, but everyone has to start somewhere. Even Abe Lincoln was new at one point. I dont think we should criticize someone for deciding to try and help thier economy and people later in thier life. At least they got a chance to have a life!

You have such a good point American. I mean, Reganomics works soo.. well. Because everyone knows that all rich people are so giving that they'll just hand off the extra cash to the needy. Good ol' Trickle-Down Theory

Also, you have a point there, with the socialism. But, you know... Conservitism is a step away from Facism. Like, say... Saddam Or others I need not mention.

To Pepe: get your facts right. Catholics aren't against homosexuality. They don't believe they should be able to get married, but they don't see it as a sin, nor do they preach against it. Believe me, I was raised Catholic, and I've done my studies.

American Infidel, I'm sure you were trying to be witty and clever when you were writing your response, and I think that's cute.

Too bad Stalin was an extremist, which meant he transcended the levels of mere socialism, and was, in fact, a radical communist--which you should know by now is a bit different. You could even go as far to call him a Stalinist, since his rule was so strict, oppressive, and bizarre that they had to name a whole form of governing after him.

Calling Stalin a socialist is like stating that you are "white" when someone asks you for your specific ethnicity. It's an ignorant, uninformed, biased statement--especially considering socialist programs are already implemented in many democratic policies and programs around the world.

So before you go off trying write a satirical post, I suggest being a bit more informed on your comparisons.

Overall, I thought the article was....decent. The writers started weak, but, in my opinion, finished strong. Personally, if I had to choose one over the other, I'd rather finish strong. Those last few lines are always the most important, because they tend to stick with the reader a bit longer--so yeah, nice job.

Pancho Villa, your comment doesn't make any sense. If you are going to attack the writing, at least make yourself sound educated.

And how can american infidel compare Stalin to democrats? The authors are clearly trying to improve the lives of the poor by using robin hood- like tactics, NOT dictate a country with socialist movements.

Pepe, I agree with you that Homosexuality is against the Catholic beliefs, but it is addressed in the editorial that he doesn't think it's right, he is only supporting the rights of the people.

Poncho: If talk you can't, the comment you not! Sound educated (i assume you are in school) when you attempt to trash an article.

American Infidel: Lets not relate Robin Hood mind set to socialism or Stalin. The second you see Rodriguez, from Nebraska, placing hits on people and killing, then you can relate him to Stalin.

fascism- noun. a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

conservAtism- noun
a political or theological orientation advocating the preservation of the best in society and opposing radical changes

explain how those are one step away from each other please i beg you.

Is it not true that a majority of people who believe in redistributing the wealth to the lower class are democrats? That is exactly what Stalin sugar coated his rise to power with the theory that "equal results" should and can happen.

I must remind you unwitting democrats that one of your own was quoted as saying "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country."
